Ok so here is the problem we are facing... running a stovepipe through the roof without melting bags around the pipe. We are considering firebrick, but how to place it? If we pulerize the firebrick, I think that because we are destroying the airholes in firebrick (which makes firebrick resistant to fire) that defeats the function of firebrick.
I don't have enough knowledge. I am doing research, but any feedback would be appreciated.
We are using sandbags to build our dome. The bags will be the walls and the roof. So I am concerned about where the stovepipe exits the building. If I use a single walled pipe, it will probably get hot enough to melt the sandbags. So I have done some research and I will probably end up using a double walled aluminized steel metalbestos pipe.
Any experience using this type of pipe? Other ideas?
